Mediation Plaza

This project site is located on in a powerful , natural scenery with sheer cliffs that drop into the Atlantic Ocean. The site has a set of ruins there that are the remains of a 17th century fort. The stone wall traces rise from the landscape and the cliff surface eroded by the wind and the water are noticeable features of the site.

The mediation complex within the quiet and sparsely vegetated area of the site, is designed to be a place for people to connect to the peaceful scenery around them of the secluded space that stimulate senses through elements of light, matter and water. However, building around the existing ruins to not erase the history that was there.

The intention for this design was to include several unique meditation experiences, that would allow for people to find their ideal environments to immerse oneself into silence and tranquility.
